Event - Special Constable (Volunteer Police Officer) Information Session - Wednesday 30th September 19:00hrs

Headquarters, WGC, Herts

Anyone considering joining Hertfordshire Special Constabulary need to attend an induction evening, the purpose of which is to explain what will be expected of you after joining the organisation.

Around 50% of Special Constables leave within the first two years of their service – this is often because they didn’t appreciate the level of commitment that they were signing up to.

Senior officers from the Special Constabulary will talk you through a presentation that explains the application process, the training you will receive, the work that you will be required to complete over the next 18 months or so and the various commitments that will be expected of you.  There will also be an opportunity to ask questions and express any concerns that you might have.

Attendance at an induction session is mandatory before your application can be fully accepted should you decide to apply and should be undertaken as soon as possible.

Please note that booking your attendance at this session does not mean you have applied for the role of a Special Constable. You will only have formally applied once you have submitted an application form from the advertised vacancy on the website.

As senior officers will be present, you should dress smart casual.

If you have any specific questions at this stage then please email hertscareers@herts.pnn.police.uk or telephone 01438 757777.
