Hertfordshire Constabulary will soon be inviting applications for the role of Police Constable.

If you are interested in a career as a Police Officer within Hertfordshire please come along to a 2 hour information session to find out more about what it is like to be a Police Officer, what the application stage involves as well as information on the training provided, fitness levels required as well as vetting and medical checks.  These sessions will provide you with all the hints and tips to help you make a successful application.

Please note: you will only be able to apply if you have attended an information session. Please bring with you your National Insurance number.

You must register attendance for one of these events; places are limited so please ensure you register early to avoid disappointment. Please note there are several sessions available. You only need to book on one date. Return to the events home page to view all available dates.

Please note that you will need to have successfully achieved the Certificate in Knowledge of Policing (CKP) with an approved provider at the point of intake into Hertfordshire Constabulary; if already held, your CKP must have been successfully completed within the last 3 years to be considered current.  You do not need to hold the CKP at point of application.

For internal candidates who are either currently Communications Operators or PCSO’s, you will need a minimum of 1 year Police Staff service at the point of intake in order to be eligible to apply, this is to ensure the Constabulary receives a return on investment on the training invested for your current role.  

Members of the Special Constabulary and Police Community volunteers are welcome to apply but must fulfil the CKP eligibility criteria.
