Applications are invited for a number of A2 Business Support Assistant vacancies in the Domestic Abuse Referral Team (DART) in Hertfordshire. Based in the Domestic Abuse Investigation and Safeguarding Unit (DAISU) at Hatfield Police Station, the DART refer domestic abuse incidents to partner agencies, such as Children’s Services, who assess the need for family support and child safeguarding intervention.

DART Business Support Assistants are supervised by the DART Administrators but require the ability to work on their own initiative whilst recognising incidents of safeguarding concern that require escalation to a supervisor.

If you are a self-motivated, experienced administrator who is interested in being part of a specialist administration team working to protect children from harm this could be the job for you. This is an opportunity to develop your knowledge and experience of safeguarding with potential for future career progression. Duties include:

• Referring details of children and parents involved in domestic abuse incidents to Children’s Services and others external agencies.
• Data entry including updating Athena Investigations
• General administrative duties including responding to email and telephone enquiries from internal and external partners with regard to referrals.

The successful candidate would also be expected to attend ad-hoc training sessions to develop their knowledge of Domestic Abuse and Safeguarding related areas.

Ideally you will have previous experience in an administrative role, a good standard of written and verbal communication, a proven ability of working with different computer systems and databases and excellent team working skills.

For the purposes of the application you will be expected to provide evidence against the personal qualities below and the entry requirements with a word count of 500 words per heading:

• We deliver, support and inspire
• We are collaborative
• We analyse critically

If you are shortlisted for interview you will be expected to give evidence against all the personal qualities and entry requirements stipulated in the role profile.

For any additional information on the role requirements please contact DART Supervisor Kay Jeffries on 01707 638143 or DI Sarah CORR on 01707 355778.
