The Force Communications Room at Hertfordshire Constabulary Headquarters based in Welwyn Garden City, is open 7 days a week 365 days a year. Our Communications Operators work flexibly including weekends and evenings/nights, answering emergency and non-emergency calls and directing resources across the County.
As one of the team, you’ll receive extensive training and on-the-job support to prepare you for the challenging variety of calls and roles ahead.
No matter what type of call comes in, your compassion, patience and professionalism must remain and that means thinking on your feet whilst providing reassurance and obtaining the relevant information to enable the correct deployment of appropriate police responses as necessary.
In return we will offer you an attractive salary and a busy operational role where you can play a key part in protecting the public from harm. The job does involve shift work and the salary is reflective of a full shift pattern, but we can be flexible on hours.
