Halo is a highly motivated, specialist team within the County Community Safety Unit that prevents and tackles cases of Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE). This is a new and permanent post, based at Headquarters. The Assistant Investigator will provide operational support to the Halo team. This includes conducting enquiries to obtain evidence and intelligence, interviewing vulnerable victims, witnesses and suspects, serving Child Abduction Warning Notices in relation to CSE and providing administrative support.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication, interpersonal and decision-making skills, strong computer literacy and well developed research techniques.Experience of the following force systems CIS, WebSTORM, PNC, IMS, Compact and an understanding of the PACE Act 1984, would be beneficial however full training will be provided. Investigative Interviewing PIP Level 2 and ABE (Achieving Best Evidence) training will be provided as required.

Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate will be required to pass a psychological assessment with the Occupational Health Unit prior to being posted to the new role.
