An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced Occupational Health Advisor to join the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire multi-disciplinary Occupational Health, Safety & Wellbeing team.

We currently have Occupational Health Advisor post available in Hertfordshire, full time. The post will be based at Hertfordshire Police Headquarters in Welwyn Garden City and could involve traveling to our northern based at Sandy, Cambridgeshire on occasion.

As part of this multi-disciplinary team the Occupational Health Advisor will report to the Senior Occupational Health Adviser and will assist in the delivery of a professional, evidence based Occupational Health service which meets the needs of the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire police forces.

You will have a good understanding of current Occupational Health issues and relevant legislation with proven experience of complex case management also of COSHH health surveillance and screening such as audiometry, Spirometry and vision testing.

The role includes supporting the management of sickness absence within the police force in conjunction with line managers and Human Resources and requires you to be able to balance individual needs against the needs of the business whilst advising managers on fitness to work.

You will be a Registered General Nurse with either a diploma or degree in Occupational Health.

Success in this role requires excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organisation. Effective time management skills and IT skills are essential for this role. Previous experience of using OH IT systems would be an advantage.
