****The Bedfordshire Child and Vulnerable Adult Abuse (CAVAA) Unit has the responsibility for the investigation of protecting vulnerable people and children, working alongside partners and multi-agencies to prevent, reducing child and vulnerable adult abuse and neglect and investigating crime.

CAVAA is based from two hubs: in the south at Luton Police Station and in the north at Bedfordshire Police Headquarters. CAVAA has responsibility for a variety of investigations including assaults up to and including attempted murder, sexual offences and neglect.

There is a current vacancy for Bedfordshire Investigation Officer at Luton Police Station. The successful candidates will work in the team supervised by a DS. They will be expected to perform the role of Officer in the Case and will be trained and supported to become PIP2 qualified (if not already completed) and a specialist officer with SCAIDP accreditation.

This is a very exciting opportunity to join a specialist team of highly motivated investigators who deal with serious criminal offences against the most vulnerable in our communities and who enjoy an extremely high success rate.

The successful candidate will have proven investigative experience. Must be minimum PIP 1 qualified, ideally PIP 2 or willing to enter PIP 2 process and the Tier 2 witness and suspect interview training courses. To be trained in ABE interviews will be an advantage. They will be highly motivated, work well as part of a team, have good communications skills and able to make good use of technology. There will be a requirement to travel and work from bases across the force area and beyond when required.
