Promotion to Sergeant

The Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Strategic Alliance are seeking Expressions of Interest for promotion to Sergeant. To be eligible to apply for the Sergeant Promotion Process you will need to be a serving substantive Constable. This process is also open to external candidates seeking promotion.

Candidates are invited to complete an Expression of Interest form (attached below) and BCH Equalities Data form linked within the EOI from 10 January 2022 and submit this to the Promotions@bch.pnn.police.uk inbox no later than midday on 26 January 2022. If your Expression of Interest form is supported by your Line Manager and Senior Management Team (Chief Inspector), you will then go on to complete your Journey to Sergeant Development Portfolio from 31 January 2022 to 18 May 2022.

A virtual information session for each force will be delivered in week commencing 10 January. All substantive constables are invited to this; it is advised that you review the session prior to submitting your Expression of Interest form. Should you not be able to attend please note that this session will be recorded and the link will be sent out.

The final selection stage consists of a Professional Discussion with two senior officers, to better understand your Development Portfolio and assess readiness for promotion. The dates of the final selection process are to be confirmed but likely to take place in June 2022.

The closing date for expressing your interest for the Sergeant Promotion process is 26 January 2022 at midday.
