A vacancy has arisen for a part-time seized property officer post, based at Thorpe Wood Police Station, Peterborough. The position is for 26 hrs per week.

Working 08:00 to 04:00pm Monday to Wednesday on week 1, and Tuesday to Friday week 2. There is no requirement to work on Weekends and Bank Holidays.

A property officer provides a professional, quality service to members of the public and police officers and colleagues, primarily in person but also by telephone. You will provide advice and assistance on all property (seized evidence) matters. You will make sure that property is seized and stored/retained in accordance with Force Policy, that is it reviewed regularly and anything that is disposed of is done effectively and efficiently. You will make sure that all the property records (reviews) are responded to and kept up-to-date.

You must have good communication skills and possess the ability to remain calm and professional at all times. Have the ability to obtain relevant information and to quickly apply the relevant procedures with the appropriate tact and firmness, and sensitivity.

Keyboard skills, and previous office experience are essential. Full training on the property management system will be given.
