This is an exciting opportunity to work with a Force that has a proven track record of driving innovative change whilst continuing to effectively police the diverse and complex challenges the Force area brings. As an inspirational leader you will play a key role in addressing our unique challenges: driving collaborative solutions to our financial and demand challenges within our tri-force Alliance and across the region, diverse and complex communities, an ever-growing international airport, major transport links and operational issues that require the highest standards of ethical leadership.

You will support the newly appointed Chief Constable in the strategic leadership and development of our dedicated teams, take responsibility for Joint Protective Services (JPS) as well as lead the regional units for the Eastern Region Specialist Operations Unit (ERSOU) and the Eastern Region Counter Terrorism Intelligence Unit (CTIU), delivering best value for money for Bedfordshire and our surrounding forces.

You will line manage the Force’s Assistant Chief Constable as well as the Assistant Chief Constable JPS and Assistant Chief Constable CTIU/ERSOU. You will be focused on delivering excellent performance, driving through large scale change and have the proven operational skills to further build upon the significant progress we have made in protecting the public and fighting crime.

Reflecting the force style, you will be professional, fair and friendly in your approach to delivering innovative solutions and lean working. You will be of at least Assistant Chief Constable/Commander rank currently with a Force and you will have the confidence and credibility to continue to build the force’s reputation at local, regional and national levels. Your strong belief in public service and victim satisfaction will make you stand out from the crowd and help land your dynamic impact on Bedfordshire, its communities and partners.

The force is an Equal Opportunities employer and aspires to be an employer of choice, attracting the best people from across a diverse range of backgrounds to reflect the communities it serves.

If you share Bedfordshire’s commitment to protect the people and fight crime, you deserve to take on this challenge. Please contact Laura Mills, Resourcing Manager via email laura.mills@cambs.pnn.police.uk for an application pack.
