The Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Professional Standards Department (PSD) have a vacancy for the role of PSD Referrals Officer and are seeking to appoint an individual with experience in investigating complex cases.

The post holder will be part of the Crime & Conduct team and this post will be responsible for investigating incidents of Death or Serious Injury (DSI) after police contact that are local investigations and be the point of contact for the Independent Office of Police Conduct (IOPC) for cases they are independently investigating.

We are looking for an extremely motivated and dedicated individual to work in this high pressured department and an individual that has either already received a Professionalising Investigation Programme (PIP2) qualification or an individual that is willing to undertake and gain this qualification once in post.

The post holder will need to be able to analyse detailed documents, interrogate computer systems, interview staff, work within strict timescales and compile accurate reports of high quality as we interact with legally qualified professionals and other outside agencies, such as the IOPC.

Applicants will not only have a proven track record within the investigation field but must also provide ample evidence of leading by example with pride and professionalism in line with the Code of Ethics and the Standards of Professional Behaviour.
