***An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the existing Psychological Health Team at Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Constabulary multi-disciplinary Occupational Health, Safety & Wellbeing Unit.

We are currently seeking to recruit a full time Psychological Health Advisor. This post will be based at the Northern OHSW hub based at Sandy, however there will be an expectation for travel to other locations including the Southern OHSW Hub based at Welwyn Garden City as part of the role.

This is a unique opportunity to join a multi-disciplinary team, providing short term therapeutic interventions, trauma treatment and wellbeing advice to police officers and staff; you will work closely with other professionals to provide a customer focused service which supports both the organisation and, it’s most important resource, the people who work within it.

You will need to be able to work on your own initiative, with a high degree of autonomy and demonstrate high levels of personal motivation, drive and resilience and the ability to manage an extremely varied workload with ever changing priorities.

You will provide a proactive psychological health service to officers and staff identifying psychological risks and making recommendations on potential resolution. You will provide short term interventions in line with departmental guidelines and provide specialist advice to OH colleagues and managers on fitness for work, including report writing and referrals to external sources where required. Further work will include delivering presentations and skills based workshops to officers and staff, and so, confident public speaking skills are highly desired for this role.

There will be an expectation to provide guidance also at a strategic level, with attendance to meetings, report writing, policy reviews and provide guidance and support to our Organizational Wellbeing Champions and Trauma Risk Management (TRiM) process and assist in promoting and auditing the programs.

You will need excellent communication and influencing skills, both written and verbal, and must be confident in using IT packages such as Microsoft office and databases.

There is a requirement to commit to professional supervision to maintain high standards of professional practice for both the practitioner and the client.

Driving licence is required as the post holder will be required to travel between the three forces.
