Drawing on proven managerial skills, the successful applicant will help lead a busy and resourceful Data Engineering Team to deliver timely, engaging and insightful performance data and information to colleagues and the Constabulary’s many stakeholders.

Your role will demanding but rewarding, ensuring your customers have the right information at the right time and in the right format in order to understand the extent to which they, and the Constabulary, are keeping people safe, catching criminals and reducing crime.

Your role will include managing the delivery and development of a wide range of performance analysis, management information and data collection products, overseeing, and assisting with the preparation of, performance presentations, exploring and exploiting new and existing technology to automate performance reporting tasks and deliver increasingly interactive, engaging and insightful performance related content, liaising with colleagues from across the office, Constabulary, partnerships and beyond on performance-related matters, ensuring your Team’s welfare, working hours, leave, sickness records and training needs and, on occasion, deputising for the Head of Performance and/or Director of Thinking & Analysis.

To be successful, you’ll be able to demonstrate:

- experience managing and developing analytical/research teams
- experience in research, numerical and statistical disciplines or equivalent workplace experience
- a sound working knowledge of research methodologies, performance review and management information in a busy business development environment
- an ability to use and exploit a wide range of computer systems, databases, spread sheet and data collection, analysis and presentation packages
- an ability to prepare strategic position papers and reports and deliver presentations to senior officers and managers
