The Eastern Region Special Operations Unit has responsibility for targeting serious and organised crime across the region and the delivery of specialist covert services to Forces when required.

The Eastern Regional Asset Recovery Team (RART) serves Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Essex, Kent, Norfolk and Suffolk, and conducts stand-alone money laundering investigations as well as supporting operational teams across ERSOU.

The RART’s purpose is to utilise financial investigation skills, techniques and legislation in order to enhance the quality of investigations into organised crime, disrupt and dismantle organised criminality, remove criminals’ assets, protect communities and build public trust and confidence in the criminal justice system.

We are seeking investigators to join the team. This presents a great opportunity to broaden existing skills, work in a specialist team and operate at the forefront of complex money laundering investigations linked to organised crime.

Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo Management Vetting and Security Clearance or Development vetting, if applicable, before taking up the post. Please be aware the Police Corporate Vetting Unit will undertake security vetting on successful candidates, their family and others that live at their home address, which will include financial checks. Due to the sensitive nature of these checks, we are not able to supply feedback should clearance be declined.
The successful applicant may be required to travel across the region when required.

You will be expected to provide written evidence around the following competencies and the minimum entry requirements from the role profile:

Please note there is a 500 words limit for each competency

Progression through the linked grade SO1 / SO2 will not be automatic. In order to qualify for the SO2 grade the post holder will need to be PIP 2 qualified, with powers allocated and 2 years’ experience in complex investigations
