An exciting opportunity has arisen within Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire’s Scientific Support Unit.

Fingerprint examination work is carried out from a tri-force unit based at Hertfordshire Constabulary Headquarters in Welwyn Garden City. The unit is primarily responsible for analysing, comparing, evaluating and verifying fingerprints and crime scene marks and also utilises IDENT1, the national fingerprint system.

A Vacancy has arisen for the role of Fingerprint Identification officer whom will be responsible for the processing of volume and major crime cases. The successful applicant will need to be an experienced Fingerprint Ten-print Officer or have successfully completed Nationally recognised training in Fingerprint Examination. They may also be required to attend crime scenes and mortuaries to carry out effective fingerprint examination and recovery.

We are looking for a self-motivated individual to join this tri-force team who has outstanding communication skills as well as excellent attention to detail.

The successful applicant will have a good standard of education, ideally in a science related discipline at ‘A’ level and be able to comply with the entry requirements of the role profile.

Starting salary is dependent on experience and employing Force.

This role attracts an additional Market Rate Supplement payment
