x 1 full time vacancies based at a covert location in Hertfordshire– ERSOU Counter Terrorism Policing

40 Hours – Monday to Friday (Police Constable/Detective Constable only)

An opportunity has arisen for role of a FIMU Assessor within the Fixed Intelligence Management Unit within ERSOU-CTP. The vacancy for this position is located at a covert location in Hertfordshire. Given the nature of the CT effort there may be a requirement to travel throughout the Eastern Region based on operational need.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated person looking to develop their career, and work within the Counter Terrorism environment. Working alongside officers and staff from the other strands of CONTEST, as well as local partners, you will be part of a small team to receive, evaluate and manage all intelligence/information in line with the NSIM, highlighting threat and risk to the IMU Manager and carrying out development where appropriate.

The post holder will be required to join the ERSOU CTP on-call rota and have a full UK driving licence.

The nature of the work conducted by the Unit means that information of a sensitive nature is dealt with by the team, and as such all staff within the unit are expected to be diligent in their handling of information, and the suitable candidate must successfully undertake vetting to at least SC/MV level. Successful applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo Management Vetting and Security Clearance or Development vetting, if applicable, before taking up the post. Please be aware the Police Corporate Vetting Unit will undertake security vetting on successful candidates, their family and others that live at their home address, which will include financial checks. Due to the sensitive nature of these checks, we are not able to supply feedback should clearance be declined.

This post is designated a ‘reserved post’ under the Civil Service Nationality Rules and is open only to UK Nationals. If you hold dual nationality, one component of which is British, you may also be considered. However, if successful, you may be asked to relinquish your non‐British nationality (and any entitlement you may have to a foreign nationality) as a condition of your confirmation of appointment with ERSOU CT Policing. One of your parents should also be British or have substantial ties to the UK. In the latter instance; substantial ties means that your parent is a citizen of a British Overseas Territory, a Commonwealth citizen, US citizen, EEA citizen, British national or citizen overseas, and they would need to have demonstrable connections with the UK by way of family history or have been resident here for a substantial period of time.

If you’re already married to, or cohabiting with, a person who isn’t a British citizen, you may still be eligible for employment at the discretion of the department. You should note however, that marriage to, or cohabitation with, a person who isn’t a British citizen after appointment may, in some circumstances, result in the withdrawal of security clearance and subsequent transfer to another department, or (if this is not possible or the officer does not wish to transfer) dismissal. Each case will be considered on its merits, taking into account the ties between the person involved and the United Kingdom.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate competence in their current role and be able to demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills. The successful candidate must also be able to drive as this role involves travel throughout the Eastern region.
