BCH Assistant Director - HR

We’re looking for two Assistant Directors to lead service delivery and improvements in our dedicated tri-force HR department. Serving Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire, our team provides HR and Learning & Development to over 8,000 officers and staff. Formed two years ago, the HR team continues to develop in response to the changing nature of policing. That makes it an incredibly complex, exciting place to work. What’s more, we’ve embarked on a transformation programme that will re-shape HR to maximise new technology, build a collaborative culture and further develop best practice. You’ll be at the heart of it all, spearheading change and supplying a wide portfolio of HR services. With your influence, all HR delivery will have real customer focus.

Working with other senior HR leaders, you’ll direct services while driving HR transformation. That means leading staff through change, encouraging joined-up delivery and realizing our People Plan priorities. To succeed, you’ll need high-level experience in a complex organisation. With this background, you’ll be ready to scope and lead major change initiatives and projects. In fact, you’ll bring tried-and tested skills from a previous role. You’ll also be equipped to refine service delivery, focusing on performance. A capable consultant, you’ll understand strategic issues and be an excellent stakeholder manager.
