An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Health Technician to join the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire multi-disciplinary Occupational Health, Safety & Wellbeing (OHSW) team.

This post will be based at the Welwyn Garden City southern OHSW hub. You will be required to regularly travel to the northern hub based in Sandy.

Reporting to the Senior Occupational Health Adviser and working alongside Occupational Health Advisers, Force Medical Advisers and an administrative team you will be required to perform a variety of tests and techniques, including the following:

• Height, weight and calculation of BMI
• Blood pressure
• Spirometry
• Audiometry
• Vision Testng
• Urinalysis
• Skin Health surveillance

You will also be required to take overall responsibility for the triaging of health questionnaires and collate relevant information for the staff to facilitate an assessment regarding fitness to work. You will coordinate and deliver health promotion activities. You will also maintain health screening equipment and ensure sufficient supplies of consumables.

Success in this role requires excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organisation. Effective time management skills and IT skills are essential for this role. Previous experience of using Occupational Health IT systems would be an advantage.
