An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Eastern Regional Special Operations Unit (ERSOU) as a Cyber Protect Coordinator.

Applications are invited for the Police Staff post of Protect Coordinator within the Regional Cyber Crime Unit (RCCU) of ERSOU. This will be a temporary contract until 31/03/2021, which may be extended depending on future government funding. Bedfordshire is the lead Force for ERSOU and a member of staff would be employed by Bedfordshire Police in grade PO2 (£34,440 to £37,563). The post holder will work mainly remotely across the 7 Forces of the Eastern Region and will be required to attend Regional and National meetings. The normal working hours will be Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm.

ERSOU Cyber Protect Coordinators are required to assist in the smooth running of the Regional Cyber Crime Unit by performing a range of Cyber Protect initiatives to empower the community by making it aware of the risks, threats and impact of cybercrime and how they might mitigate them. Which includes co-ordination of the cyber protect message across the 7 Forces, engagement with Small and Medium businesses and engage and support large businesses across the region.

An ideal candidate would have strong organisational and project management skills, be able to work creatively and innovatively, finding new ways to present material and achieve success within the Cyber Protect landscape. Excellent communication skills are essential due to regular presentations to both Police and Public audiences. Good analytical and research skills are essential to evaluate information and provide meaningful recommendations to assist law enforcement and industry in protection activities. An understanding regarding cybercrime, fraud and financial investigations would be desirable.

Successful applicants must pass SC/MV vetting and this must be confirmed before starting in the role.
