7 Force Armed Policing STRA Coordinator

Eastern Region Armed Policing (7 Forces) is currently seeking to identify an individual suitable to hold the new post of 7 Force Armed Policing STRA Coordinator.

Grade: Inspector or police staff: Bedfordshire PO4/5, Cambridgeshire MB1, Hertfordshire A5, Norfolk/Suffolk Band E, Essex PO3 and Kent Grade F

Location: Local force (required to travel across the seven forces)

Duration: Permanent

Overview of role: The 7 Force Armed Policing STRA Coordinator will support the 7 Force Armed Policing management team with the delivery of standardisation and enhanced operability for firearms through the development and maintenance of the Eastern Region Armed Policing Strategic Threat and Risk Assessment (STRA) process.

The STRA Coordinator will play a key role in producing a single regional Firearms Strategic Threat and Risk Assessment (STRA) which will form the basis of developing a joined capability that is appropriate and proportionate to the firearms threats faced within the Eastern Region.

The successful applicant will remain employed by their home force, although whilst in post will be seconded to work under the direction and control of the 7 Force Armed Policing Governance Structure. Day to day management will be undertaken by the 7 Force Training Delivery Manager and the function overseen by the 7 Force Specialist Operational Policing Superintendent working on behalf of the ACC Eastern Region Armed Policing Lead.

Experience:

This is an ideal opportunity for an individual who has a high level of understanding of operational Armed Policing together with a practical understanding of the role that the Strategic Threat & Risk Assessments for Armed Policing plays within the training environment.

The role requires excellent communication skills both verbal and written, with the ability and confidence to communicate with and present reports to senior stakeholders across the seven forces and partner agencies.

The nature of the role will require the successful candidate to show experience of taking an analytical approach to delivery.

Experience working within a collaborative environment would be extremely beneficial.
