An opportunity has arisen to join the collaborated Central Tickets Office (CTO), File Preparation team in the role of Case Officer. The CTO team sits within the Cameras, Tickets & Collisions Unit (CTC), Joint Protective Services.

Joint Protective Services endeavour to reflect the diverse communities we serve and to build an inclusive workforce where everyone is valued and respected. We encourage applications from underrepresented or minority groups.

The ability to adjust and organise the timing and priority of work is a major factor in this role and attention to detail is essential.

The Case Officers within File Prep are responsible for decision making, file preparation, and file queries for a range of traffic offences from both members of the public and partner agencies (CPS, HMCTS). The Case Officer can expect to be liaising with both police and staff colleagues throughout CTC and the wider forces, to ensure the on-going quality of traffic prosecution files.

Experience in the use of IT and good working knowledge on word processing, spread sheets and databases would be beneficial and a good understanding of the Road Traffic Act would be desirable. The ability to communicate and provide information to a high standard is required so we are also looking for candidates who are able to offer advice and assistance from internal/external customers so public customer service experience is essential. The successful candidate will be expected to speak to a wide variety of people and represent the force appropriately. You will be required to manage the expectations of offenders and explain policing processes using suitable language and terminology.

Additionally, Case Officers may also required to present specified offences at Magistrates Court with a view to providing additional resilience to those already trained to present Police Led Prosecution cases at courts throughout the three counties.

For the purposes of the application you will be expected to provide evidence against the four personal qualities below and the entry requirements:

• We deliver, support and inspire
• We take ownership
• We analyse critically
• We are collaborative
