***A vacancy has arisen for full time permanent positions for the role of Resource Officer.

The Resource Management Unit is at the heart of the Organisation ensuring we have the right staff in the right place at the right time to keep the people of Cambridgeshire safe. The successful applicant will be required to be a good team member, working with other Resource Management Unit staff often in a pressurised environment when having to staff operations at short notice.

In this role you will ensure the minimum staffing levels across the force are adhered to and problem solve where necessary if those numbers are not met. You will be managing staff’s rotas and appropriate working patterns, highlighting areas of low strength and using your skills and knowledge to fix the issues.

You will also be coordinating the availability of Officers and appropriate police staff in the most cost-effective way, for specific duties such as PSU, Searches and Court attendance, implementing duty changes where necessary. This may involve warning/de-warning and dealing directly with staff in order that they are available and aware of the need to attend Court or take part in specific duties.

Experience/knowledge of using the Duty Management System (DMS) as a work planning tool and knowledge of Police Regulations and the Police Staff Handbook would be advantageous but not essential.

Applicants should answer an expression of interest in no more than 500 words of how you meet the entry requirements.

On the job training will be given to the successful applicant.
