Police Staff - Specialist Intelligence Case Officer – x 1 full time vacancy based at a covert location in London – ERSOU Regional Organised Crime Unit.

An exciting opportunity has become available to join ERSOU’s confidential Unit as a Specialist Intelligence Case Officer to be based at a covert location in London.

The Specialist Intelligence Unit is embedded with our partner the National Crime Agency, to provide intelligence support to tasked activity within the Confidential Unit relating to serious and organised crime targets in line with Strategic Policing Requirements and specified priorities.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual managing cases working alongside a team of Police officers and staff supporting their colleagues in the Confidential Unit. They will have to demonstrate good communication skills both written and verbal, have an experience of developing intelligence and investigations desirably within a covert environment. A good knowledge of the Investigatory Powers Act to support operational activity will also be desired.

Interested applicants must demonstrate their ability to work with the highest standards of integrity, in line with the Code of Ethics.

This post is open to Police Staff and external candidates who, if have not already done so, will be required to pass a mandatory partner agency training course on commencement of their post.

Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo Management Vetting (5 years residency criteria) and Security Clearance (5 years residency criteria) or Development vetting, if applicable, before taking up the post. Please be aware the Police Corporate Vetting Unit will undertake security vetting on successful candidates, their family and others that live at their home address, which will include financial checks. Due to the sensitive nature of these checks, we are not able to supply feedback should clearance be declined.
