Promotion to Sergeant

The Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Strategic Alliance are seeking applications from substantive Constables within Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire on promotion to Sergeant as well as external applicants seeking promotion to Sergeant and substantive Sergeant seeking lateral transfer.

To be eligible to apply you will need to be a serving substantive Constable in a Home Office force or substantive Sergeant for lateral transfer.

Candidates are invited to apply online, with applications being shortlisted based on the core competencies of the rank of Sergeant as outlined in the Competency Value Framework (CVF) at level 2.

An information event will be held in each force on the following dates:

Bedfordshire Police Headquarters, Conference Room 2

Wednesday 24 April 2019 at 15.00 hours

Cambridgeshire Police Headquarters, Conference Room 1

Thursday 25 April 2019 at 16.00 hours

Hertfordshire Police Headquarters, Conference Room 2

Thursday 25 April 2019 at 09.00 hours

The event will include an overview of each Force, what we are looking for in our leaders as well as how the process will run. If you would like to attend in person or via Skype please send confirmation to promotions@herts.pnn.police.uk and further details will be made available.

The final selection stage consists of an interview and will assesses both your technical and leadership competencies. The final selection process will take place in the week commencing 10th June 2019.

The closing date for registering for the promotions process and submitting an application is 12th May 2019 at 23.55 hours.
