Our communities need to be informed at every level about how policing is delivered in Hertfordshire. Working as part of a busy and friendly team, no two days are ever the same in Corporate Communication. From giving front line officers communication support at major crime scenes and incidents, through supporting the communications and engagement aims of the Police and Crime Commissioner to helping Community teams promote their work, there is a wide variety of police business to support on a daily basis.

You’ll be writing news releases, updating the intranet and internet, using social media, implementing communication plans and supporting colleagues on high profile campaigns and crime cracking initiatives. It’s an exciting opportunity and the right candidate will be ambitious about the contribution they can make to communication both internally and externally.

The Press and PR Officer post requires a high degree of experience and self-motivation.

To join our team you’ll need to demonstrate an understanding of press and broadcast media and social media culture and have knowledge or experience of public relations/journalism and the use of social media and the internet to achieve communication objectives. Finally, you should have excellent communication skills and strong computer literacy.
