Virtual Court Officers will be based in a designated Custody Suite, however will occasionally be expected to provide Virtual Court cover across the tri-force area as required. The post holder's base will be determined according to the successful applicant's home force.
As the role is based in a custody environment it is a uniformed position and successful applicants will be required to undergo a physical fitness test as part of mandatory Personal Safety Training.

Virtual Court Detention Officers will be line managed by the BCH Virtual Court Supervisor.

The post offers and requires a degree of flexibility as it necessarily reflects the working hours of the court. At present this does not require a shift pattern, however as the use of Virtual Court is developed nationally it is likely to do so at some point in the future.
