An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced Health and Safety Advisors to join the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire Police and Hertfordshire Constabulary multi-disciplinary Occupational Health, Safety & Wellbeing team.

We are currently seeking to recruit two full time Health and Safety Advisors. One of these posts will be based, at Hertfordshire Constabulary Headquarters in Welwyn Garden City and one at Bedford Police Headquarters in Kempston.

As part of this multi-disciplinary team the Health and Safety Advisors will report to the Occupational Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager and will assist in the delivery of a healthy workforce in a safe environment, which meets the needs of the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire police forces to comply with all relevant Health & Safety legislation.

You must have a NEBOSH Diploma H&S Qualification or equivalent and ideally be a Chartered member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH) or a Graduate member of IOSH. You will have a wide ranging H&S experience and knowledge of effective health and safety management strategies, auditing and best practice.

Success in this role requires excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organisation. Effective time management skills and IT skills are essential for this role. Previous experience of health and safety in the police or emergency services would be an advantage.

You will need to have a driving licence as the post holders will be required to extensively travel between the three forces.
