****An opportunity has arisen for one vacancy within the Crime Reduction and Community Safety Department.

The successful candidate will provide strategic crime prevention advice and support to the Local Policing Command (LPC), businesses, the public and other organisations. They will have strong problem solving skills, and will work closely with colleagues and partners across the county in setting up projects aimed at reducing crime/catching offenders.

The candidate will have good communication skills and be able to work with others, they will work closely with other agencies, partners and businesses, often at a senior level. They will also be expected to attend regular meetings at Police HQ and elsewhere in the County.

They will also possess strong interpersonal skills with an ability to engage with and motivate a diverse cross section of people. They will have contact with Police Officers and staff at all grades, as well as members of the public and partner agencies. They will provide crime prevention training to Police Officers and Staff. They will provide personal crime prevention advice to vulnerable victims.

The candidate will have sound IT, presentation and facilitation skills and be able to work under their own initiative.

Applicants must be prepared to attend a one week residential training course in order to acquire the appropriate skills and knowledge for the role.
