There is an exciting opportunity to work within the Children and Young People team dedicated to keeping children and young people from being victims, and to prevent them entering into, or escalating up, the criminal justice system.

We currently have vacancies within the Children and Young People team. These roles are based at Watford and Stevenage Police Station but cover a variety of districts within the county. In this role you would support the police constables in their work with offenders and victims, assist in running reparation activities such as workshops, projects and delivery of key messages within educational establishments. Additionally, you would be involved in the design and delivery of appropriate diversionary activities, and work with partners to keep children and young people from offending.

The CYP PCSO role does involve some shift work, to enable the reparation activities and to enable children to be dealt with when parents are home from work. The shift pattern involves some evening shifts and occasional Saturdays. We are particularly interested in hearing from applicants who have experience of working in schools or those who feel confident to deliver presentations within a school environment.

The CYP PCSO role is very rewarding as you will see the benefits of your work in the short term as well as becoming skilled in long-term problem solving and decision making.

You will need to hold a full UK driving licence, and be willing to use your vehicle to travel between locations if required to do so. For the purposes of the application you will be expected to provide evidence against the personal qualities below and the entry requirements:

 We are collaborative
 We are innovative and open-minded
 We take ownership

There is a word count limit of 500 words per section.
