V/135/H Emergency Services Police Support Volunteer
A new and exciting volunteering opportunity has arisen in the Dacroum area. We are looking for a number of volunteers to bring their energy and enthusiasm to join a newly created team of volunteers, that will support both the Fire & Police Service.
This innovative new role volunteer role will initially be for a twelve-month pilot and some of the key tasks will include:
- Support officers and staff at community events, providing advice on fire safety and crime prevention.
- Carrying out safety checks within the local community to identify hazards and report them to the local fire and police teams
- Carry out ‘Safe and Well’ visits, providing fire safety and crime prevention advice to members of the public
- Supporting officers by carrying out searches in the local area in certain missing person enquiries
We are looking for individuals who are committed, with good interpersonal skills, computer literate and able to undertake training on Police systems.
The Volunteer Scheme welcomes applications from across the county and will reimburse travelling expenses up to 15 miles from the volunteering location.
