An opportunity has arisen to work within the collaborated Beds, Cambs and Herts Administration of Justice Unit as a Witness Care Officer based at Hatfield Police Station.

The role holder will be responsible for the effective provision of efficient Witness Care support to victims and witnesses in cases prosecuted through the Criminal Justice System. This work is vital to ensure that offenders are brought to justice.

You will provide a broad range of administrative support to facilitate and coordinate the attendance of witnesses at Court where they are required to give evidence in an office based environment by telephone, text, e-mail and letter. You will be a single point of contact to provide hearing updates to victims and witnesses, within prescribed timescales and in accordance with the Victims' Code of Practice and the Witness Charter. You will process incoming queries and information from a variety of different sources, in an expedient manner, providing professional advice in relation to Witness Care processes where appropriate.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate proven customer service skills. Training will be provided by experienced colleagues and supported by Witness Care Coordinators.

You will be required to work a shift pattern - this will attract a shift allowance in accordance with the force you are recruited by.
