An opportunity has arisen for a person with good organisational skills and personal motivation to join the Personal Assistants Team as a Business Support Assistant. 

This is a permanent, full time role. Working hours are Monday - Friday 0800-1600 hours, but there is scope for some flexibility. 

The Personal Assistants Team provide administrative support to senior officers based at various stations across the county and at headquarters and assist with the day to day running of the stations. They are a team of 24, in addition to which there are 2 Business Support Assistants based at Watford and Stevenage Police Stations. This advert is for the Stevenage Business Support Assistant role. The post holder will report to a Principal Personal Assistant. 

The post holder will be expected to base themselves at Stevenage police station, however they work closely with Personal Assistants at Stevenage, Hitchin, Cheshunt and Hertford police stations, meaning good communication skills are key. The post holder will be expected to provide broad administrative support including, but not exclusive to the sorting and franking of outgoing post (for which training will be provided), delivering incoming post around the station. Liaising with Station Reception Officers when visitors and deliveries arrive at the station. Liaising with Estates and Facilities engineers for any faults/repairs. Dealing with the allocation and handover of lockers and managing a database for this with the Personal Assistants at the above named stations. Assisting with the administration of traffic notices. Placing stationary orders, allocating visitor car parking spaces (which are limited) and co-ordinating ride along (these are not currently taking place due to Covid-19 however).    

Applicants should be able to use Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel to a good standard and be able to demonstrate their organisational skills.
