***You will be working within a team of Crime Analysts in the Local Policing Command Intelligence Unit and report to a Senior Crime Analyst. You will be responsible for analysing data and intelligence from a wide range of sources to identify threat, risk and harm. This will include the identification of crime problems, hotspots, crime series and offending patterns. You will make recommendations about possible responses to crime problems that help catch criminals and keep people safe. You will also support a wide range of criminal investigations that detect, deter and disrupt criminal activity.

This role will involve working alongside a variety of teams and helping Community Safety Partnerships respond to crime problems. You must possess strong inter-personal skills, have the ability to source, validate and analyse information, be able to think critically and develop inferences, and have the confidence to communicate findings both verbally and in writing.

Working Hours are based on a 5 week shift pattern which includes weekend working (1 weekend in 5, averaging 37 hours per week when calculated over five weeks).

Desirable Entry Requirements:
• Experience of undertaking research and analysis is desirable.
• Mapping software experience is desirable but not essential.

Essential Entry Requirements:
Excellent report writing and inter-personal skills.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual, who is responsive to change, who can demonstrate; inference development and testing, the compilation and interpretation of data, excellent communication skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to work amongst multi-functional teams.
Additionally, you should be computer literate and familiar with complex, customized databases and varied computer packages (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel are essential).
