It is therefore essential that if you apply for this role, you e-mail BCHCareers@herts.pnn.police.uk to notify us that you have submitted an application. We will then process it for shortlisting. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the BCH Professional Standards Department as a PSD Analyst.

The Professional Standards Department is a collaborated Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire unit which is committed to improving public confidence and quality of service together with protecting and enhancing the integrity of all three forces. It achieves this by preventing and detecting unethical behaviour, conducting timely and robust public complaint investigations, identifying lessons learned through investigation, educating, promoting and supporting good practice.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual with experience of intelligence analysis in a law enforcement or similar environment. Applicants with experience of performance analysis are also welcomed.

The role will be working under the direction of the PSD Senior Analyst to provide analytical support across the department. You will be providing analysis in support of anti-corruption intelligence development, criminal or misconduct investigations. You will also work to understand and predict trends and emerging threats in corruption and misconduct in order to inform organisational learning and preventative activity.

Exceptional attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Excellent computer skills are essential, although knowledge of PSD systems is not expected and additional training will be provided on these. We are looking for someone with experience in dealing with sensitive and confidential information who has the ability to manage a busy and varied workload.

The Professional Standards Department is based at Biggleswade Police Station; however, there is scope for significant agile working by the post holder. The post is a permanent post and the hours are 22.5 hours per week Monday to Friday (exact working pattern to be determined in consultation with the successful candidate).

Applicants should complete an Expression of Interest (maximum 500 words) stating how you meet the minimum entry requirements and why you wish to take up this role. Applicants should attach their CV or an internal role summary form (internal candidates only). Applicants who are successful at the shortlisting stage will then be invited to an assessment and interview.

The closing date for Expressions of Interest will be 20th September 2020.

The Professional Standards Department endeavours to reflect the diverse communities we serve and to build an inclusive workforce where everyone is valued and respected. We encourage applications from underrepresented or minority groups. We are committed to ensuring that our recruitment processes are barrier-free and as inclusive as possible to everyone. This includes making adjustments for people who have a disability or long-term condition. If you would like us to do anything differently during the application process or for any further information, please contact Senior Analyst Emily McKeever on 07710 930425.

Internal applicants within Bedfordshire Police, Cambridgeshire Constabulary or Hertfordshire Constabulary (BCH), should upload their CV or a completed ‘Staff internal role summary’ form (if you do not have a current CV), which can be found in the vacancy documents below. We strongly recommend that where possible, a CV is provided to ensure that your full experience and employment history is demonstrated. Please note you will be required to provide a statement no more than 500 words against the minimum entry requirements as stipulated in the role profile.

External applicants should ensure that their current CV is uploaded and provide a statement no more than 500 words against the minimum entry requirements as stipulated in the role profile. To ensure the recruitment process is fair and equal, please do not include personal details on your CV other than your name.

If you are successful at shortlisting, you will be required to provide evidence against the competency and values framework (CVF) and entry requirements as stipulated in the role profile.
