An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Regional Organised Crime Threat Assessment (ROCTA) Unit which supports seven forces to include Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Kent, Norfolk and Suffolk.

Within the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit, ROCTA is responsible for scoping and understanding the threat to the Eastern Region from serious and organised crime, identifying opportunities and presenting pursue, prevent, prepare and protect recommendations to Force and Regional Tasking Forums. A key responsibility will be to identify patterns, trends, hotspots and opportunities for Force, ROCU or partner activity and prepare products for sharing or use in tasking. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the threat assessment in the region and drive activity to disrupt serious and organised crime.

We are seeking experienced and skilled analysts (or assistant analysts) who are looking for new and exciting experiences as a ROCTA Intelligence Analyst. This role will be working as part of a team to ensure the Eastern Region has the best understanding of serious and organised criminals impacting upon the area. This presents a great opportunity to broaden existing skills, work in covert policing and to operate at the forefront of advancements in intelligence work.

Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo Management Vetting (5 years residency criteria) and Security Clearance (5 years residency criteria) or Development vetting, if applicable, before taking up the post. Please be aware the Police Corporate Vetting Unit will undertake security vetting on successful candidates, their family and others that live at their home address, which will include financial checks. Due to the sensitive nature of these checks, we are not able to supply feedback should clearance be declined.

You will be based in Hertfordshire with the requirement to travel across the region on occasion.

You will be expected to provide written evidence around the minimum entry requirements from the role profile (maximum 500 words).

If you are an internal applicant working within BCH (Bedfordshire Police, Cambridgeshire Constabulary or Hertfordshire Constabulary), please upload either your CV or a completed internal role summary form. If you are an external applicant, please ensure you upload your CV and evidence against the minimum entry requirements from the role profile. To ensure the recruitment process is fair and equal, please do not include any personal details on your CV, other than your name. An internal role summary form should not be completed.

Please note that this advert will be live to redeployees throughout the recruitment of this advert. Any redeployee that applies will only need to evidence against the minimum entry requirements of the role profile. To do this if you are a redeployee, write ‘Redeployee’ in the other competency boxes and just complete your evidence against the minimum entry requirements in the relevant box. Redeployees will take priority over other candidates at any point during the recruitment process up until a final offer is produced and you will be notified if this happens.
