Applications are invited from experienced complex investigators for a role within Eastern Regional Special Operations Unit (ERSOU) for vacancies on the Regional Cyber Crime Unit (RCCU).

This will be a permanent position based in Hertfordshire. Bedfordshire is the lead Force for ERSOU and a member of staff would be employed by Bedfordshire Police in grade SO1 – SO2. The normal working hours will be Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm, although flexibility in hours and work location will be occasionally required due to operational reasons, training or meetings.

ERSOU RCCU officers and staff conduct proactive and reactive investigations into serious and complex cyber-crime criminality, which could include both cyber enabled or cyber dependent criminality with significant regional or national impact and/or linked to organised crime.

The post is open to suitably experienced and qualified applicants who have a proven track record in dealing with serious and complex criminal investigations. An ideal candidate would have an understanding regarding cyber-crime, computer misuse, fraud, money laundering, as well as experience in both proactive and reactive crime investigations.

Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo Management Vetting (5 years residency criteria) and Security Clearance (5 years residency criteria) or Development vetting, if applicable, before taking up the post. Please be aware the Police Corporate Vetting Unit will undertake security vetting on successful candidates, their family and others that live at their home address, which will include financial checks. Due to the sensitive nature of these checks, we are not able to supply feedback should clearance be declined.

You will be expected to provide written evidence around the following competencies and the minimum entry requirements from the role profile:
