***Please note that this vacancy has now closed and is available to redeployees only; it will not be checked on a regular basis by the recruitment team. It is therefore essential that if you apply for this role, you e-mail BCHCareers@herts.pnn.police.uk to notify us that you have submitted an application. We will then process it for shortlisting. If you do not notify us by e-mail that you have submitted an application, it will not be picked up. Please also ensure that you notify your allocated Change Advisor of any redeployee applications that you have submitted.
Redeployees who apply will be given priority over any other internal applicants for permanent roles up until the point that an offer has been accepted either verbally or in writing.
If a role is not filled by an internal candidate and is advertised externally, redeployees will continue to get priority over external applicants until a successful candidate has received a final offer of employment.
***Over the next three months there are projected to be 2 vacancies arising for the post of Records Management Practitioner.

There are 3 Records Management Centres (RMC) within the collaborated BCH Information Management structure and one of those is at Luton. The RMCs are busy archive stores where the emphasis is on ensuring records are stored and reviewed in accordance with NPCC guidance, the Management of Police Information requirements and legislation such as the Data Protection Act and Freedom of Information Act.

As a Records Management Practitioner you will work as part of an already committed and enthusiastic team to deliver a first class service to our internal and external customers whilst maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and scrutiny in recording and reviewing retained records.

The successful candidate should have previous experience of working within an administration based environment, know how to use Windows-based software and have the ability to work under pressure and on their own initiative. Previous use of force systems such as BORIS, PLX, PNC, FedSearch, Athena and Transearch is desirable but not essential, as training would be provided.

The position is a full time post of 37 hours per week (working 0800-1600 Monday to Friday) and is based at RMC, Luton but as part of a BCH team there may be a requirement to occasionally work from the other RMCs at Letchworth and Monks Wood so an ability to travel to alternative locations is needed. Core opening hours for the unit are 08:00 – 16:00 Mon-Fri.

The successful applicant will need to undergo Management Level Vetting prior to employment and this can take up to 28 days from receipt of the completed forms. It is important in completion of those forms that all information requested is provided as failure to disclose may lead to vetting being rejected.

If you are interested in applying for the advertised role please ensure you read the attached information, including role profile, context sheet (if applicable) and recruitment information for applicants.
