An exciting opportunity has become available for full time Intelligence Officers within the Force Communications Room (FCR) of Hertfordshire Constabulary Headquarters in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire.
We are projecting vacancies over the coming months for staff who are self-motivated and have the ability to work under their own initiative. This is a demanding role where thorough fast time intelligence packages are developed and briefed to Police Officers in support of operational decisions in response to live time incidents.
The intelligence officers also provide supportive functions to the Force Control Room and operational colleagues across the county. There is clear importance that front line officers receive up to date intelligence in relation to incidents or situations they are dealing with.
You will be trained in many aspects of overt and covert intelligence methods and have access to systems and procedures unique to the role. Integrity and security are paramount, you will be vetted to an enhanced level and must maintain your professional discretion.
You will be line managed by a central management team although aligned to a core team on a 24 hour/7 days shift, adapted specifically for the Intelligence officer role. The ability to work unsupervised and within a small close knit team is essential as is flexibility surrounding shift changes should the operational need arise.
