Applications are now invited from internal or external applicants for the post of Out of Court Disposal Case Manager A4 for the Out of Court Disposals Administration Unit.

This role will be a full-time post working office hours (with some flexibility) and based initially at Hertfordshire Constabulary Headquarters in Welwyn Garden City.

The OoCD Administration Unit is situated within the Witness Services Team but the line management structure is with the Safeguarding Command, Crime Reduction and Community Safety and aligned to the County Community Safety Unit that is based at Farnham House.

The successful applicant will either be trained on Athena or be required to complete the training to enable them to carry out the role. The role will have line management for the A3 post that is currently being recruited to this new unit.

This is an exciting opportunity to continue to develop and shape the Hertfordshire approach to the new two-tier out-of-court-disposal options that went live in the County on 1st October 2019. The aim of the new approach is to ensure that victims have a say in the response to their crime and that offenders are diverted through restorative, rehabilitative or reparative options to educate and support them thereby preventing future offending. At the heart of the 2-tier system is ‘problem-solving’ and the concept that by tackling ‘why’ something is happening we can prevent more crime, which means less victims.

This role will manage the administrative processes, support frontline officers, CCSU managers and others through effective referral processes, recording and data analysis to ensure that we can continue to develop the force approach. There will be an element of report writing and a need to brief staff when required and maintain contact with the NPCC business area. There is likely to be some training and presentations required of the post-holder.

Applicants should provide written evidence in the application to demonstrate competence against the Entry Requirements in the role profile. It is expected that around 500 words are submitted in total. The interview will be an evidence based interview and candidates will be asked to demonstrate their experience against the Behavioural Competencies.

Applicants should refer to the Role Profile for additional detail and contact TCI Luke Whinnett, Inspector Larissa Richards for further information and guidance.

If you are an internal applicant working within BCH (Bedfordshire Police, Cambridgeshire Constabulary or Hertfordshire Constabulary), please upload either your CV or a completed internal role summary form. This form can be found in the attached documents. Please note you will still be required to evidence against the minimum entry requirements.

If you are an external applicant, please ensure you upload your CV and evidence against the minimum entry requirements. To ensure the recruitment process is fair and equal, please do not include any personal details on your CV, other than your name. An internal role summary form should not be completed.

If you are successful at shortlisting, you will be required to evidence against all personal qualities and the entry requirements as stipulated in the role profile.

All applications must be submitted through our online recruitment website by clicking the apply button below.

All internal applicants must have successfully completed their probationary period in order to apply for this role.

This force is a Disability Confident employer. Should you require any reasonable adjustments for your application process, please contact the HR Service Centre on 01438 757777 or the manager contact for this role directly. We also offer the guaranteed interview scheme; this means that all candidates with a disability covered by the Equality Act 2010, who meet the minimum entry requirements for the role, will be invited to attend an interview.

Please note that this advert will be live to redeployees throughout the recruitment of this advert. Any redeployee that applies will only need to evidence against the minimum entry requirements of the role profile. To do this if you are a redeployee, write ‘Redeployee’ in the other competency boxes and just complete your evidence against the minimum entry requirements in the relevant box. Redeployees will take priority over other candidates at any point during the recruitment process up until a final offer is produced and you will be notified if this happens.
