Applications are sought from Police Staff Investigators to join the ‘Sexual Offences Investigation Team’ (SOIT) based at Police HQ, WGC
Due to a restructuring of the team there is a requirement for an A4 Investigator to work alongside their Police colleagues in the main duty teams.

This is exciting opportunity to join Hertfordshire Constabulary’s Crime and Safeguarding Command in a role which offers exceptional personal reward and satisfaction.

The successful applicants will be responsible for investigating some of the most serious offences committed against our most vulnerable victims. You will be managing threat, risk and harm on a daily basis, and working towards securing significant convictions for your offenders and providing reassurance and justice for your victims.

You will be working closely with the Sexual Assault Referral Centre and liaising with the Independent Sexual Violence Advisors who will provide the professional after care that your victims need, leaving you to be focused on the investigation and safeguarding.

You will be also be required to make full use of your investigative & communication skills, available technology and various policing resources to undertake investigations across the county and on occasions further afield. You will be expected to maintain the highest standards of integrity and demonstrate your investigative ability, tenacity around criminal investigations, and a willingness to learn and function effectively as part of a team.

All staff will be expected to undertake an ABE course and work towards successful completion of or maintain their PIP2 accreditation.
These posts will attract 5 spinal points for the shift work element. A further 2 spinal points will be credited for PIP2 accreditation.

Candidates will be scored on their applications forms, and those providing sufficient evidence will then need to undertake an Interview Board. Selection will be based on this.

Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate will be required to pass a psychological assessment with the Occupational Health Unit prior to being posted to the new role
