Police Constable

A fantastic opportunity now exists for dynamic, innovative, flexible and forward thinking Constables to join the Joint Protective Services (JPS) Armed Policing Unit.

The Armed Policing Unit operates as part of the operational arm of the Joint Protective Services Directorate with responsibility for the provision of specialist Armed Policing services across the Strategic Alliance of Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire.

This is a very exciting opportunity to join a highly motivated team who deal with some of the highest risk deployments across the alliance.

As the Policing landscape moves, it requires us to move with it and consider change where necessary. The post holders must have experience of embracing change in the modern service.

The successful candidates must be highly motivated and be able to evidence a high level of individual performance, teamwork, excellent communication skills and be flexible when required, recognising the need to travel and work across the strategic alliance.

The successful candidates must also be either qualified to full ARV standards and an advanced driver, or be able to complete the necessary training within a reasonable timeframe.

Any interested parties are to submit an expression of interest, containing no more than 500 words covering the following:

  •          Serving the Public
  •          Working with Others
  •          Professionalism
  •          Decision Making

JPS SMT reserves the right to call successful candidates for a final interview.

Applications are particularly welcomed from Female and BME officers who are underrepresented within the Armed Policing Unit.
