Do you have the skills to lead our approach to corporate problem solving?

Policing faces many challenges and the ability to identify and effectively respond to emerging threats and challenges is critical to success for Hertfordshire Constabulary.

At the heart of this approach, is a desire to develop the Constabulary into an organisation which embeds problem solving at every level and at the earliest opportunity, to ensure that we protect our communities, prevent crime and apprehend those who do commit it.

A key enabler for this is a forward thinking view, alongside high quality analysis. This is critical to informing and equipping our front line staff, so that they recognise and can most effectively respond to the many varied challenges that they face daily.

Following a review and restructure of functions which deliver corporate analysis, research and audit, we have created a new role to lead this work and are seeking to appoint a “Head of Thinking & Analysis”.

We seek a highly motivated leader with demonstrable experience of successfully managing organisational development, performance management, and the delivery of culture change. Experience within a policing environment is not essential, but high quality leadership is, along with a degree level education, preferably in a subject related to performance or business management.

The role is broad and will ensure that we develop and deliver suitable strategic thinking and strategy, effective operational planning, as well as tactical knowledge to those who need it. To achieve this you will be adept at stakeholder engagement, have excellent communication skills and a drive to deliver.

This is an opportunity to shape the future for Hertfordshire, so if you have the skills we seek, we would like to hear from you.

If you are interested in applying for the advertised role please ensure you read the attached information, including role profile, context sheet (if applicable) and recruitment information for applicants.

For the purposes of the application you will be expected to provide evidence against the personal qualities below and the entry requirements:

 We are emotionally aware
 We take ownership
 We are collaborative
 We deliver, support and inspire
 We analyse critically
 We are innovative and open-minded

There is a word count limit of 500 words per section.

If you are shortlisted for interview you will be expected to evidence against all personal qualities and the entry requirements as stipulated in the role profile.

Further information on the post can be obtained from Chief Superintendent Geoff Camp

Please note this role has been previously advertised as A7 and therefore the Role Profile and Personal Qualities may differ slightly from any previously advertised role.

**Please note that this advert will be live to redeployees through out the recruitment of this advert. Any redeployee that applies will only need to evidence against the minimum entry requirements of the role profile. They will take priority over other candidates at any point during the recruitment process up until a final offer is produced and you will be notified if this happens.**
