***Applications are invited for a Business Support Assistant to join Joint Protective Services (JPS) in delivering essential strategic and administrative support to Specialist Operations (APU, CCU, CTC, Dogs, OPSU and RPU. The post holder will work as part of a team within the JPS Business Area, reporting to the Business Co-ordinator.

This is a full-time permanent post and in addition to this we also have a temporary full time contract available. We are looking for an individual looking to develop their career and work within a fast paced and evolving area of business. The successful candidate may occasionally be required to travel across Beds, Cambs and Herts but the permanent base location can be either Bedfordshire Police Headquarters or Cambridgeshire Police Headquarters which is where the majority of the business area and command team are based.

The post holder will be required to undertake a range of responsibilities, including (but not limited to);
• Maintain accurate and systematic records to ensure information is easily accessible.
• Management of the starters and leavers process ensuring relevant documents are kept up to date at all times and equipment is allocated/collected as necessary.
• Support the organisation in the planning of internal development/training days, liaising with participants, producing and dispatching information and greeting visitors.
• Support HR processes by maintaining/updating the recruitment database and monitoring absences.
• Research and compile management information as required.
• Effectively manage all telephone, written and electronic communications.
• Provide confidential administrative support to the JPS Command Team.

As such the successful candidate will have the desired qualities;
• Experience in the use of IT and a good working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
• Experience of operating a range of office equipment
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

In addition to the above, the post holder will be responsible for the day to day administration required to deliver effective and efficient service across JPS Specialist Operations.
