The role of Head of Facilities, is a newly created position within the recently restructured Estates and Facilities department, reporting into the Head of Estates and Facilities and working alongside the Head of Estates.

The Head of Facilities has three direct reports, Compliance Manager, Senior Facilities Manager and the Facilities Manager admin, and overall responsibility for a team of 38 staff and specialist subcontractors. The role has responsibility for delivering reactive and planned maintenance, health and safety and soft services across the estate, this comprises of 44 sites located across Hertfordshire some of which are free hold and others shared occupancy or leasehold the GIA extends to 60,000m2 with the Headquarters site extending to 28 acres and accommodating in excess of 1,200 officers and police staff.

The focus of this role is to embed the newly implemented structure, developing new working practices and procedure such as the compliance dashboard to ensure robust systems and processes are in place to provide assurance that the constabulary is compliant at all times and appropriate resources are in place to support the Constabulary through the proposed 2020 Project which encompasses a major redevelopment of the Headquarters site.

The post holder will demonstrate extensive experience leading and developing teams delivering a wide range of services both hard (mechanical, electrical and fabric) and soft (cleaning, catering and admin) in a multi -site environment with services delivered by a mix of in house and contracted out vendors.

The post holder will also be responsible for leading on developing and implementing the Constabulary's Sustainability Strategy.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated individual, who is responsive to change, achievement focused with proven experience.

While experience of working in a police environment would be advantageous this is not essential.
