Applicants are invited to join the collaborated Cameras, Tickets & Collisions (CTC) department in the role of Camera Operator within the Camera Operations Team based in Stevenage.

CTC seeks to reflect the diverse communities we serve and to build an inclusive workforce where everyone is valued and respected. We encourage applications from underrepresented or minority groups. This role will require the successful applicant to attend camera enforcement sites and operate cameras as well as capturing speeding or other offences using mobile data/ equipment from a camera van across the 3 counties of Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire. This is also a physical role so the applicant may need to undergo a medical assessment as part of the pre-employment process.

The Camera Operator will predominately be lone working and the majority of the time will be spent out of the office so a driving assessment will also need to be carried out as part of the pre-employment process. In addition, the successful applicant will be required to work a seasonal variation shift pattern from Monday to Friday. You will need to be self-motivated, have the ability to multi-task and have excellent organisational skills to enable you to carry out the daily tasks assigned on a Rota basis, as these have strict deadlines and statutory time limits. Attention to detail is also required as the post holder will be expected to apply the correct data to camera machinery and also to verify/identify images captured from camera sites which will be presented in Court as evidence by the post holder in accordance with the standard required by the Crown Prosecution Service.

It is essential that you are computer literate, and have the ability to understand maintenance and operation of cameras within the guidance provided, for which training will be given. The post holder must have a UK driving license with manual and category B entitlements. The role requires heavy lifting and agile working in the field with limited time office based. We are looking for candidates who ideally have knowledge of the Road Traffic Acts, the wider Criminal Justice System and an awareness of Road Safety matters. You will be required to undertake mandatory training in CTC bespoke systems which includes training towards certification in camera systems, which may include travel away from the normal working base.
