For constables in operational roles, we offer the T/DC programme which enables you to complete the PIP2 programme and become a detective.

We will be considering applications from officers at Sergeant and higher ranks however please note that vacancies for these ranks are limited and will be allocated to officers with exceptional sought-after skills.

Hertfordshire is also part of a tri-force alliance (with Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire), as well as the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit (ERSOU), both of which offer specialist opportunities within operations and investigations.

Bordering London, you will experience the professional challenge of investigating complex crime and dealing with serious community issues without spending endless hours on a train or stuck in traffic on motorways commuting to work.
