The Eastern Region Special Operations Unit supports seven forces to include Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Kent, Norfolk and Suffolk. The Sensitive Intelligence Unit is at the heart of driving the Eastern Region’s Regional Organised Crime Unit (ROCU) in identifying the threat from serious and organised crime and delivering specialist covert policing capabilities to tackle the highest threats in the region.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join ERSOU as a ROCU Performance Analyst, based within the Sensitive Intelligence Unit (SIU). The post holder will provide a comprehensive analytical and information service for internal and external customers relating to the performance and onward development of the Eastern Region ROCU. This presents a great opportunity to develop the understanding of the ROCU’s overall effectiveness in its regional response to organised crime, and to broaden existing skills in the analysis and presentation of data as well as the chance to work in covert policing and to operate at the forefront of advancements in intelligence work. This role will also be integral in supporting the senior management team, providing context and clarity to performance information.

The successful candidate will have an excellent understanding of, and ability to use MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint to a high standard. Experience with specialist databases and Power BI is desirable. The role can be diverse and challenging and it is essential that the successful candidate has excellent communication skills, is highly motivated, and has a flexible approach to working.

Bedfordshire is the lead force for ERSOU so the successful candidate will be employed by Bedfordshire Police Force.

You will be based in Hertfordshire with the requirement to travel across the region when required.

Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo Management Vetting (5 years residency criteria) and Security Clearance (5 years residency criteria) or Development vetting, if applicable, before taking up the post. Please be aware the Police Corporate Vetting Unit will undertake security vetting on successful candidates, their family and others that live at their home address, which will include financial checks. Due to the sensitive nature of these checks, we are not able to supply feedback should clearance be declined.

You will be expected to provide written evidence around the minimum entry requirements from the role profile (maximum 500 words).
