The CTC requires an Assistant Investigator, and will be employed by Hertfordshire Police. This post is based in the CTC office at Stevenage Police Station.

The successful candidate will need to be flexible as you will be required to work across the 3 counties. The Assistant Investigator for CTC (Camera, Tickets and Collisions Department) will specifically be responsible for supporting the CTC department by providing a dedicated investigative resource. The workload will generally arise from safety camera and collision enquiries. The post holder will be responsible for investigating offences including researching evidence and intelligence gathering. They will be required to utilise designated powers to search, investigate and pursue enquiries, prepare and upgrade case files.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate an ability to input and interrogate computer databases. This is a customer facing role, so the capability to conduct directed investigations with the public and suspects including the competency to take statements is essential. Applicants must be able to identify investigative opportunities and follow investigative processes with an understanding of the Road Traffic Act and the Criminal Justice System.

The successful post holder must be prepared to become an Accredited Assistant Investigator and will be expected to provide a service to Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire. The post holder must have a full driving licence with business insurance and gain home force authority to drive police vehicles as the role will require the staff member to conduct enquiries away from their place of work (reporting station).

For the purposes of the application you will be expected to provide evidence against the personal qualities below and the entry requirements:

We Take Ownership
We Are Collaborative
