Victims Policy Officer – Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner

If you get your energy from people, have experience working in partnership with colleagues from other agencies to achieve your goal and know what VAWG stands for, then we need you.

A vacancy has arisen for a Victims Policy Officer in the Office of the Cambridgeshire Police and Crime Commissioner supporting the delivery of the Police and Crime Commissioner’s Police and Crime Plan and statutory responsibilities.

Existing experience working within the victim support sector, criminal justice system, policing or community safety world would be a huge bonus and help you hit the ground running to what will be a fast-paced and varied role. One week you could be chairing contract meetings for our commissioned services; the next translating what the Code of Practice for Victims of Crime means for local support services and briefing senior decision makers. You will also play a key role in the office supporting the Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) agenda.

You will be part of a small, but supportive team, who are splitting their time between home and the Office of Police and Crime Commissioner based in Police Headquarters in Huntingdon.  You must be able to travel to the office, and around the county and elsewhere, for meetings to meet business need.

The role is preferably full time (37 hours) but flexible working arrangements will be considered for the right candidate.

If this sounds like the job for you and want a quick chat please contact Nicky Phillipson, Director of Commissioning, via: cambs-pcc@cambs.police.uk

The deadline for applications is Wednesday March 16. Interviews will be held face to face at Police Headquarters in Huntingdon on Wednesday 30th March and Thursday 31st March.

Please note, as below, the statement of no more than 500 words should be against the entry requirements as stipulated in the role profile not the competency and values framework.

For the purposes of the application you will be expected to provide your CV as well as evidence against the minimum entry requirements (MERs). There is a word count limit of 500 words for the MERs.

If you are shortlisted for interview, you will be expected to evidence against all CVF competencies and the minimum entry requirements as stipulated in the role profile.
