We are looking to recruit 5 enthusiastic and committed advisors to join our newly formed Early Intervention Domestic Abuse Advice Desk. The team will be supervised by a Detective Sergeant and will be based in the Demand Hub at Cambridgeshire Constabulary Headquarters in Huntingdon. 

The team will be supporting frontline officers in their attendance at Domestic Abuse incidents, providing vital information to assist them in ensuring that we safeguard all those involved by provide relevant and timely updates to inform risk assessments and actions to be taken by the officers. 

Advisors will be alerted to incoming Domestic Abuse incidents in live-time and will then use all available systems to provide a concise yet detailed update to the attending officers. The applicant will be using several computer systems to ensure they can provide the fullest of updates to support the officers in their decision making and subsequent actions. 

The Advisors will also have some contact with victims of Domestic Abuse, keeping them informed of and updated in the initial stages of an incident, as well as providing advice in relation to maintaining their own safety and if needed the integrity of evidence. 

This will be a fast-paced role in a pressured environment and we are looking for advisors who can bring previous safeguarding experience to a new team and work together to provide a high standard of service to officer colleagues and in turn, the best service possible to the residents of Cambridgeshire. 

The advisors will work alongside a team of dispatchers within the Demand Hub and work a similar shift pattern (only the times of the sifts are different), offering them continual support on a daily basis and working in a thriving and busy team environment. 

The Advisors will work a shift pattern which spans 10 days, comprising of; 

2 early shifts (06:00hrs – 15:00hrs)

2 mid shifts (12:00hrs – 22:00hrs)

2 late shifts (15:00hrs – 00:00hrs)

Followed by 4 Rest Days. There is also the opportunity for a training day, 1 day every 10 weeks.
